Phoebe Lavery-Wall (M.Ost Master's degree in Osteopathy)

My areas of expertise:

  • Headache and migraine prevention

  • Neck, upper back and shoulder pain

  • Arthritic conditions

  • Cranial osteopathy

  • Paediatric osteopathy (treating children and babies)

  • Osteopathy during pregnancy and postpartum

  • Fibromyalgia

In a typical day, I see a whole range of patients from babies to the rugby players, and everyone in between so I use a variety of techniques and tailor a treatment to the most appropriate for each patient.

I have a special interest in headaches, paediatric patients and in musculoskeletal problems that can be experienced during and after pregnancy as I completed studies in cranial osteopathy at Master’s level and often employ these gentle techniques to help relieve discomfort.

One of the things I love most about being an osteopath is that the appointments are nice and long so I can take time to really get to know patients, to understand how their lives and their families are affected, and to know what it means for them to be able to get some relief from aches and pains. For this reason, I’ll never tire of watching patients improve, and helping people to regain independence through better understanding and management of their condition or injury.

Liam Slater (B.Ost Bachelor’s degree in Osteopathy)

My areas of expertise:

  • Acute and chronic lower back pain

  • Joint articulation and spinal manipulation

  • Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation

  • Personal training and exercise prescription

  • Nutrition, Health & Fitness Education

  • Dry Needling/Medical acupuncture

Prior to graduating as an Osteopath from the College of Osteopaths I worked as a massage therapist in Nottingham for 8 years and gained a wealth of experience and confidence in treating postural strains, arthritis, sports injuries, disc injuries and all of the aches and pains that fall in between.

In addition to my Osteopathy degree and massage training I have qualifications in medical acupuncture and personal training, this allows me to take a multidisciplinary approach with my patients and really tailor my treatments and advice to suit each patients needs. I’m a big believer in patients being pro-active in their recovery journey and I will put together a rehabilitation plan for them to work on outside of the clinic, this speeds up their recovery and prevents old injuries creeping back in.

From a young age I have always had a keen interest in sports and fitness, I played football for Notts County FC and later went over to America as a coach. I now spend my time at the gym and enjoy CrossFit! Having an insight into the sporting world also gives me a huge advantage when dealing with sports injuries and working with athletes to improve performance. I have even had the pleasure of working with two Team GB Tri athletes. This is an area of my work that I really enjoy and will keep pursuing!

My passion ultimately lies with helping people, I love my job and thoroughly enjoy working with and getting to know people from all walks of life.

Ben Scott (Level 4 Sports therapy)

My areas of expertise:

  • Upper and lower back pain

  • Muscle tensions and strains

  • Sports massage and general massage

  • Sports injury rehabilitation

  • Postural assessments

I have been qualified in sports massage therapy for 4 years now and I'm enjoying every minute! It has been particularly interesting to work alongside two great osteopaths and learn more about what they do.

I have a keen professional interest in dealing with sports injuries and I find it extremely rewarding to be able to help rehabilitate my patients back to full fitness. My ethos of assessing patients, including correcting posture, allows me to understand their goals and limitations and then provide the correct treatment for them as an individual.

In my career so far I've been lucky enough to work with local football and cricket clubs, which has given me an amazing insight into how athletes are training and dealing with their injuries, specifically the everyday knocks and tightness experienced when playing sport. The better we understand this, the easier it is to formulate a treatment plan that focuses on speeding up recovery times and boosting performance!

Outside of work I'm pretty active and sporty myself, I compete in the Derbyshire Premier league for Denby Cricket club and I have also had the privilege  of representing Great Britain in indoor cricket for the under 19’s World Cup in Dubai in 2017.

Looking forward I plan to gain keep gaining experience and begin expanding my qualifications in areas such as acupuncture, kinesio-taping and fire cupping.
